Book Projects

Luke is working on three book projects (which are in various stages of progress). His hope is that they will make a positive impact on social health.

The most treatment-oriented of these (and probably the one which he will finish last) is built around case studies of how people in recovery have broken the drug-sex link, and grown into sober, hot, healthy sex lives. It will include a tool he developed and uses in his practice called, The Relational Matrix. The working book title is: Sobersexual: how to be dirty when you get clean.

The next book is a self-help guidebook on navigating signals, basic manners, and communication in queer men’s sex lives, romantic prospects, and friendships. The working title is: A Queer Man’s Guide to Orgy Etiquette, and other social relations.

Finally, the writing with which he is most engrossed is a fiction coming-of-age novella. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque university town of Santa Cruz, California, the story follows two students, Ferran and Matt, on a journey of self-discovery, with their deepening circle of friends, social and political ramifications, their spiritual connection, and their struggles against societal stigma. Importantly, it is also an exploration of their unexpected, newfound feelings. In a tender tale of friendship that blossoms into deep love, readers join the boys as they learn to navigate their identities and travel through the complexities of young love, the weight of others’ expectations, a world in crisis, and the power of self-acceptance and love. The book is in pre-production, and the working title is: Chance Harvest.
